Telling Secrets – Fall Behind

Fall Behind” is a recently released single by Telling Secrets, a Manchester/Surrey-based band. Led by a principal songwriter/composer Vik Kovacs, this outstanding band delivers a premium sound that will unquestionably appeal to all the fans of modern music. Perhaps a contemporary pop-punk comes to mind, but Kovacs thoroughly planned everything while writing, composing, recording, and producing “Fall Behind,” so you’ll notice how some of the properties borrowed from other complementary music genres found their way into this fine piece of sonic artistry. Don’t be surprised if you stumble upon elements of emo, alternative, indie, melodic punk rock, and other similar styles. These additional elements serve as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that uplift this track on an entirely new level while Telling Secrets remains loyal to the primary sonic direction.

Kovac’s exceptional vocal performance is the centerpiece, emphasizing all the instrumentations with perfectly balanced low, mid, and high notes. The cleverly assembled themes, leads, melodies, harmonies, chord progressions, and riffs serve as a perfect backdrop, supporting Kovacs’s sincere, confident, powerful vocal performance. You’ll also notice how equally detailed, vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines support guitars, but also offer more than necessary heaviness, depth, and clarity. This composition wouldn’t sound complete without outstanding drumming performance based upon wisely constructed, energetic, well-accentuated beats, breaks, and fills. Each instrument plays a significant role in shaping such a rich and luxurious ambiance that will suit all modern pop-punk fans, but also those who’re stumbling upon this genre for the first time.

“Fall Behind” showcases Kovacs’ creativity, talent, ideas, and musicianship on full display, while the remainder of the group demonstrates how pop-punk music should sound nowadays. Their ability to combine some of the finest elements of alternative, post-hardcore, indie, and emo with the fundamentals of pop-punk sound goes beyond comprehension so many times during the song. Every segment comes with many ideas transformed into catchy instrumentations that will force you to spin this track all over again. The anthemic chorus is one the most memorable moments in this track, but the other segments also deserve your utmost attention because Telling Secrets fully stacked “Fall Behind with impressive instrumentations that go beyond the pop-punk genre. These folks are not joking around with their music, and you’ll notice that as soon as you press play. “Fall Behind” will become your go-to track whenever you need flawlessly executed pop-punk music. The single is available on all streaming services. Don’t miss it!
