XY Gala – Creatures of Nightmares

Creatures of Nightmares” is a new track by XY Gala, a profoundly creative London-based artist. It’s a second track this year that serves as an adequate follow-up to, “True Story (Full Of Lies)” a critically acclaimed single released earlier this year. Soundwise, XY Gala combines many genres to depict rich and luxurious sonic imagery. Perhaps modern alternative rock comes to mind first, but you’ll undoubtedly notice many other complementary music genres lurking around. Besides the fundamentals of the mentioned genre, the artist used some of the finest sonic ingredients borrowed from alternative metal, nu-metal, modern metal, indie rock, and industrial. You’ll hear how these additional elements act as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that unquestionably uplift “Creatures of Nightmares” on an entirely new level while the artist remains loyal to the primary sonic direction.

This track shines with brilliant ideas and exceptional musicianship from scratch to finish. XY Gala fully stacked every segment with impressive sonic and rhythmic maneuvers but also paid attention while composing, recording, and producing. You’ll hear how wisely assembled riffs serve as a more than appropriate backdrop for his outstanding vocal performance. These heavily distorted, aggressive, powerful riffs perfectly emphasize his flawless vocals, which skillfully balance between low, mid, and high notes. Still, there are much calmer moments where semi-distorted, arpeggiated chord progressions shine alongside masterfully performed leads. The guitars undoubtedly define every section of “Creatures of Nightmares,” so you will hear how XY Gala has put a lot of effort into building a song structure.

Of course, “Creatures of Nightmares” wouldn’t sound so massive and detailed without equally complex basslines, which provide more than necessary heaviness, clarity, and depth. It’s also good to mention that outstanding drumming performance based upon well-accentuated, moderate beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics define groove and pace. Still, this song isn’t all about aggression, heaviness, and power. Quite the contrary, XY Gala also paid attention to the melodic aspect of this number, and you’ll notice thick layers of themes, melodies, and harmonies during the catchy choruses.

“Creatures of Nightmares” is a magnificent modern alternative rock song empowered with some of the best qualities borrowed from alternative metal, nu-metal, industrial, and indie. XY Gala thoroughly planned the entire song structure, every segment, note, and beat while working on this track, and the effort paid off in a fresh and unique take on these genres that will appeal to even the pickiest fans. You should check it out as soon as possible. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
