JFT – To Be Back Here Again

To Be Back Here Again” is a brand-new song by JFT, a Manchester-based singer-songwriter. It’s the third single this year that comes as an appropriate continuation of “I Don’t Know” and “Malodorous,” two excellent tracks that this prolific artist released earlier this year. Soundwise, “To Be Back Here Again” combines the singer-songwriter approach with some of the finest properties borrowed from Britpop, indie pop, and indie rock. These experimentations with several different, but complementary music genres resulted in an exceptional composition that will appeal to even the pickiest listeners. The artist thoroughly planned everything, so you’ll notice how these additional elements enhance every segment and the entire structure of the song, while JFT remains loyal to the primary sonic direction.

As soon as you press play, you’ll immediately notice that “To Be Back Here Again” leans towards contemporary indie sound, but also carries some instrumentations that might evoke nostalgia. It’s one of those songs with a slightly psychedelic, soothing, ethereal, cathartic ambiance, mainly achieved by subtly implementing reverb effect over semi-distorted, cleverly arranged, flawlessly performed chord progressions. Perhaps the guitars play a significant role in shaping such a mesmerizing ambiance, but the bass guitar also contributes to this fine piece of sonic artistry. The equally complex, vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines provide more than necessary heaviness, clarity, and depth, while the outstanding drumming performance based upon well-accentuated, moderate beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics define groove and pace.

Every instrument sounds marvelous from scratch to finish, and JFT undoubtedly proves he’s a profoundly creative, talented, skillful artist, who knows how to write, compose, record, and produce wondrous indie pop songs that will resonate with the broader auditorium. Still, his exceptional vocal performance steals the show with perfectly balanced low, mid, and high notes, emphasizing every instrumentation invested in this track. This composition wouldn’t sound this good without these vocal harmonies, as they enhance the aforementioned psychedelic ambiance on a new level.

You should check out “To Be Back Here Again” as soon as possible, because JFT invested so much time and brilliant ideas into it, and his effort resulted in an ear-appealing number that will suit indie music fans, and even newbies to the genre. His ability to create a fresh and unique song with such a distinctive ambiance goes beyond comprehension from scratch to finish, and every segment of “To Be Back Here Again” showcases his creative genius on display. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
