Mike By Name – Can You Wait For Me?

After the debut extended play called The Holy Egg and a couple of excellent singles like I’ve Got To Be The One and Feed My Dreams With Funk, NYC-based singer-songwriter Mike By Name returns with a new composition that will unquestionably appeal to all the indie fans. Can You Wait For Me? is his third single that announces The Vibe Operator, a sci-fi rock opera album. Soundwise, Mike By Name follows the footsteps of his previous works but in a more calm, comfortable, and soothing way. Besides exploring the fundamentals of a indie sound, Mike By Name doesn’t hesitate to incorporate some of the vital elements of alternative, art rock, soul, pop, and other complementary music genres that unquestionably accentuated, decorated, or enhanced Can You Wait For Me? on an entirely new level. Of course, this single also showcases some innovations in songwriting and composing, while the sound meets all the trends in music production. All these qualities are responsible for a mesmerizing ambiance that lurks in Can You Wait For Me?, so don’t be surprised if you catch yourself listening to this beautiful number repeatedly.

Mike By Name thoroughly planned every sonic maneuver on this cathartic musical journey. You’ll notice how his outstanding vocal performance, moderate beats, vividly hearable warm-sounding basslines, and catchy chord progressions shape this song. However, all these instruments burst with even more power during the choruses, where the artist decorated the beforementioned orchestrations with a bit more distortion, some synth accentuations, calm ambiances, and high-pitched vocal maneuvers. You’ll also hear how indie pop, soul, funk, and blues dominate throughout Can’t You Wait For Me? the most, while other styles accentuate only particular segments like pre-choruses or choruses. Mike By Name also included blues solos on some parts that come like a cherry on top. It’s also good to mention that he thought about the balance between every detail, so the song keeps the same consistency and flow from beginning to end. Honestly, you won’t hear better indie tracks this year than this one, and there’s no doubt Can You Wait For Me will end up on many Spotify playlists due to the ideas, musicianship, and quality Mike By Name invested into it. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
