Composed, arranged and recorded during the first quarter of 2022, the self-titled debut EP by Central Coast two-piece Procession presents four tracks drawing inspiration from the post-punk, synth-pop, indie rock and punk musicians that the members worshipped throughout their adolescence.
For this release, the members of Procession trade in the speed and ferocity of their previous hardcore, punk and thrash bands to instead experiment with reverbed guitars, programmed drums and sequenced synth sounds to create an unpredictable musical landscape complimented by thoughtful and probing lyrics depicting the challenges and doubts associated with your late twenties.
Recorded in a lounge room by long-term friends, the recording process was a one-day experiment fuelled by nostalgia and optimism of what is to come.
Released by Brisbane based D.I.Y label Team Glasses Records both digitally and physically on hand-cut cassette tapes, the Procession E.P. is just the first taste of what is to come. The four track EP is now available for streaming via the Team Glasses Records Bandcamp account and is set to hit all other digital streaming services within the next week.
