With ‘Primitive Men’, couchgagzzz want to go back to mankind’s roots, back to basics — eliminating all the schemes of modern society to focus on nothing but survival, food, and fire. But this desire is just a pipe dream.
Born in a Bari basement in 2021, couchgagzzz are JJ (drums, vocals), BB (bass, vocals), Garko (guitar, vocals) and Snafu (synth, guitar), four musicians coming from the Apulian scene through bands such as Behind Bars, Bob Cillo & Mafia Trunk and Santamuerte. Inspired by Australian rock’n’roll, the band delivers fast and electric sets. In 2023 they release their debut album ‘Gosports!!!‘ (Ciqala Records / Side 4 Records), which makes it into the year-end charts of Rockit and Blow Up. Several tracks get airplay on the BBC‘s New Music Daily, leading the legendary broadcaster to invite the band to their studios in early 2025 to record a live session. In the summer of 2025, they are invited by Skin to open the Italian dates of the Skunk Anansie summer tour. That November, they play at Egg Fest in Manchester alongside Prison Affair for Sour Grapes Records.
