Townsville, Australia indie rock quartet Poison Oak recently released a brand new single. Weekend Blues is the second single in a row this year that promotes an upcoming EP. Weekend Blues showcases four exceptional musicians doing what they do the best, and that’s performing profoundly emotive super-catchy indie rock music. Poison Oak fully stacked this particular number with brilliant ideas and exquisite musicianship, so there’s no way Weekend Blues will not appeal to all the true admirers of the genre. Still, there are plenty of hidden surprises along the way for those who pay closer attention while listening.
Perhaps Poison Oak takes indie rock as their primary genre, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t implement some other ingredients as well. You may also notice how the group spiced things up with some alternative rock and indie pop, but these elements are wisely arranged not to spoil the primary musical direction. Weekend Blues deals with the excitement about the weekend and that special feeling after the realization that we’ll have some spare time for ourselves after Friday. It’s a cheerful indie song you don’t want to miss. Weekend Blues is available for listening on all streaming services.
