Underground Muscle Shoals punk outfit The Dismals have officially released their long-awaited debut full-length album, Stability In Motion, via the longstanding DIY label Arkam Records. Formed in 2005, the secretive band operated below the radar for years, briefly emerging in 2017 for a 7-inch release before vanishing once again. Now, over two decades into their evolution, the band has firmly dug their heels in.
Featuring tracks written between 2008 and 2025, Stability In Motion delivers a surging, urgent wave of dark punk anthems. Recorded and self-produced in a remote cabin dubbed the “Ice Coffin” near the Tennessee/Alabama state line, and engineered by Josh Lynchard, the record perfectly captures their gritty, raw aesthetic. Fans of authentic underground punk can order Stability In Motion on LP via Arkamrecords.net, while CD and cassette formats are currently available on the band’s official Bandcamp page.
