Independent alternative rockers Roots Asylum have released their soaring new single, “The Wedding Song.” The track, which dropped on March 13, is a powerful exploration of love’s endurance in a civilization that feels like it’s sliding toward chaos. Moving from their folk-rock roots into a fuller, guitar-driven sound, the band utilizes acoustic guitar, soulful organ, and sweeping vocals to create a sense of rising hope.
The recording is a true family affair, featuring the father-daughter duo of Jeromy and Miya Timmer and the father-son pairing of James and Luke McMillan. Miya’s lead vocals bring a natural grit and emotional weight to the track, while Luke’s organ adds a pop-leaning warmth. Engineered and mixed in Kalamazoo, Michigan, “The Wedding Song” is more than a traditional tribute—it is a celebration of lasting commitment in a divided world.
