Swedish punk veterans Dead Pollys are gearing up for a European tour this May, marked by the release of a split CD with Kauz of Affliction. The band has also unveiled a video for their new track, “Punkracy.” The song is a direct critique of the “authentic” gatekeeping and rigid hierarchies that often plague the punk scene, contradicting the genre’s core values of defiance and individuality.
Dead Pollys are known for their high-octane live shows, where the singer is often found running through the crowd as much as on the stage. Rejecting any “elite” status, the band describes themselves as the “shit under your boots.” While the new songs won’t hit streaming platforms immediately, they are available for airplay, ensuring that their message of raw, unpolished defiance reaches the masses before they hit the road.
