Mid-Michigan melodic alt-rock band Silktail returns with their strongest release to date, A Better Place Than Me. The five-song EP, recorded at Bricktop Recording with producer Andy Nelson, finds the band sharpening their sound through raw frustration and honest self-expression.
About Silktail
Drawing influence from legendary emo predecessors like Hey Mercedes, Knapsack, and Seaweed, Silktail would feel right at home on timeless compilations such as Dragging the Lake or Revelation Records: In-Flight Program.
Further, Silktail channels a sense of ‘90s nostalgia while keeping their sound firmly rooted in the present. The EP blends hook-heavy songwriting with slacker-rock textures and blown-out guitars reminiscent of Dinosaur Jr., Built to Spill, and Pavement, balanced by a melodic pop sensibility akin to Superdrag and Jimmy Eat World.
Silktail releases the A Better Place Than Me EP on CD, digital, and 12” vinyl with a screen printed b-side via Setterwind Records on April 3.
