In one of the year’s most unexpected collaborations, Scott and Seth Avett of The Avett Brothers have joined forces with Mike Patton (Faith No More, Mr. Bungle) to form AVTT/PTTN. Their self-titled debut album will be released on November 14 via Thirty Tigers, Ramseur Records, and Ipecac Recordings. The first single, “Eternal Love,” is available now.
Born out of an exchange of mutual admiration, the project grew into a unique creative partnership. Songs were passed between the three musicians across coasts, each reshaping the material until it became something wholly new. The album features tracks like “Dark Night of My Soul,” blending acoustic roots with Patton’s dynamic vocals, and fuzz-driven numbers such as “Heaven’s Breath” that push into unfamiliar territory.
Produced by Patton, Scott Avett, and Grammy-winning engineer Dana Nielsen, the album embodies a spirit of experimentation and camaraderie. “This is what art is—making without ambition,” says Scott Avett.
