Philadelphia sludge rock band Sunburster will release their long-awaited debut full-length, No Semblance of Peaceful Existence, on October 24 via Knife Hits Records.
Active for over a decade, Sunburster have built a reputation among fans of Eyehategod and Melvins for their punishing heaviness and blues-soaked grooves. The new album is a 10-track descent into bleak, NOLA-inspired sludge with distorted riffs, strangled vocals, and grim lyrical themes.
The band has already previewed the release with second single “Exile to Elba,” showcasing the record’s grimy intensity. No Semblance of Peaceful Existence is available for preorder now.
With their mix of oppressive heaviness and fluid groove, Sunburster stand as one of Philadelphia’s darkest underground acts. This first full-length captures the band’s uncompromising vision and promises to resonate with fans of extreme, down-tuned sludge metal.
