Melodic Hardcore Veterans Modern Life Is War Drop Powerful New Single “Bloodsport”

Modern Life Is War prepare for the release of their first new proper full-length album in over twelve years: Life on the Moon (incoming September 5 via Deathwish Inc. [digital] + Iodine Recordings [physical]) with the release of the record’s caustic third single “Bloodsport.”  Vocalist/lyricist Jeff Eaton says: “The opening guitars ride on the dystopian Dead Kennedy’s violent wave.  At first I took my time, waited to come in and imagined the energy it might take for one voice to ignite the spark of a riot and crush the hateful opposition with a loving fury of art, kindness and community.  Violently only if necessary, and then decisively.   I wrote this lyric the night before I tracked the final version in a fury with few revisions.  I wanted to be as immediate and direct as possible, and hammer home a few simple points that I didn’t want to be lyrically coded about.   Put me on the dissident list for 25 and 26, cause I’m against it.”

Known for their distinctive blend of raw emotion and confrontational intensity, Modern Life Is War once again deliver a mix of gritty realism and poetic despair, pushing forward while staying in touch with that which has resonated with audiences over time.  Crafted over several years with the help of long-time collaborator Brooks Strause and friends, Life on the Moon is as much an emotional outpouring as it is a sonic evolution.

Showcasing Modern Life Is War’s continued ability to confront personal turmoil with a potent mix of defiance and vulnerability, Life on the Moon is a record about the pain of separation and the joyful energy of union as filtered through an eclectic tapestry of eccentric songs.  Pre-order/pre-save Life on the Moon digital via Deathwish Inc. and physical via Iodine Recordings here.
