Florida Melodic Punk Band Lot Lizards Release Debut Album “The Horrors Of Adulting”

Growing up is a nightmare—but at least we have punk rock to scream about it. Lot Lizards’ debut full-length album, The Horrors of Adulting, is a fist-in-the-air response to burnout, regret, and the brutal reality of becoming an adult. Out July 25, 2025 on Punkerton Records, the album is now available for pre-order on vinyl, including limited-edition color variants.

Blending explosive energy, sharp lyricism, and a healthy dose of existential dread, The Horrors of Adulting is a 12-track punk rock blitz that covers everything from self-destruction (“Surprise Party”) to moral fatigue (“Good Intentions”) and escapist daydreams (“Great Escapes”).

“Our first full-length record, The Horrors of Adulting, is about exactly what it sounds like,” says frontman Jon Barnes“Being an adult is shitty most of the time. We were so fucking stupid for wanting it so bad when we were younger. If we only knew what a pain in the ass it would be…”

The album’s relentless pace and emotional rawness harken back to the golden era of melodic punk, drawing inspiration from genre staples like Face to Face, Lagwagon, Bigwig, Propagandhi, and No Use for a Name—while injecting a fresh urgency and Southern grit.

Lot Lizards—Jon Barnes (vocals/guitar), Alex Trellu (bass/vocals), and Mikey Henk (drums)—formed in 2021 in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, they’ve been tearing through Florida’s punk scene with explosive live sets and songs made to be shouted in sweaty rooms.

With The Horrors of Adulting, Lot Lizards aren’t trying to reinvent punk—they’re reigniting the fire that made you fall in love with it in the first place.

Order the LP through Punkerton Records  (12″ 140-gram vinyl pressings, including exclusive color variants. Streaming digitally on all DSPs.
