St. Petersburg, FL, Florida-based punk trio Lot Lizards are back with their explosive new single “Surprise Party.” It’s the second single from their upcoming debut full-length album The Horrors of Adulting, due out July 25, 2025.

Rooted in the spirit of 90s and 2000s skate punk, “Surprise Party” channels manic riffs, raw vocals, and dark humor into a cautionary anthem about the chaos of enabling, and surviving, your closest friends.

Inspired by a real-life visit from a disaster-prone friend who showed up unannounced, trashed the house, and wore out his welcome, the song reflects both love and frustration in equal measure.

“This song is about the things we do for good friends, and the frustration you feel while seeing them f*ck up.” – Jon Barnes (Lot Lizards)

With lyrics like: “You’re going off the edge / You’re headed straight for death / You’re running out of places to hide from you” and “I’ll make sure to clean your mess before my wife gets up,” the track finds catharsis in chaos, delivered with breakneck hooks and unfiltered honesty.

Formed in 2021, Lot Lizards quickly earned a reputation across the Florida punk scene for their no-nonsense sound, honest songwriting, and sweat-soaked live shows. Influenced by Face to Face, Propagandhi, Lagwagon, and No Use for a Name, they combine aggressive energy with tight, melodic songwriting built for mosh pits and singalongs alike.

Their Punkerton Records debut album “The Horrors of Adulting” is a collection of fast, hook-driven songs about burnout, friendship, regret, and survival in a world that never slows down.

Lot Lizards is a high-energy melodic punk rock band from St. Petersburg, Florida, delivering fast, hook-driven songs that channel the spirit of classic 90s and 2000s punk. Formed in 2021 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the band found its voice by leaning into raw emotion, tight musicianship, and a love for the kind of punk that sticks with you.

Taking influence from bands like Face to Face, Bigwig, Propagandhi, No Use for a Name, and Lagwagon, Lot Lizards creates punk rock that is catchy, aggressive, and built for the stage. Their songs are meant to be played live, turned up loud, and shouted back by the crowd. The band consists of Jon Barnes (vocals/guitar), Alex Trellu (bass/vocals), and Mikey Henk (drums).

Together, they bring a no-nonsense, full-throttle approach that’s earned them a growing reputation for powerful shows and honest songwriting.
