Alternative Metal Titans Deftones Announce 10th Album “private music,” Share Lead Single “my mind is a mountain”

Alternative metal legends Deftones have officially announced their highly anticipated 10th studio album, private music, set for release on August 22 via Reprise / Warner Records. The album is introduced with the haunting, atmospheric lead single “my mind is a mountain”, now available to stream.

Blending their signature shoegaze textures with dense layers of alternative metal intensity, the new track hints at a sonically expansive chapter for the Sacramento outfit. The single builds on the ethereal experimentation of 2020’s Ohms while digging deeper into a meditative, slow-burning soundscape.

private music was co-produced by longtime collaborator Nick Raskulinecz, who also helmed Diamond Eyes (2010) and Koi No Yokan (2012), both critical and fan favorites in the band’s extensive catalog.
