CSDM Released Debut Album “Convertible Hearse”

Atlanta-based death disco/post punk band CSDM release debut album Convertible Hearse through labels Mothland and EXAG’ Records and announce fall European tour dates.

CSDM a.k.a. Celebrity Death Slot Machine is a band based in Atlanta, GA. Their stylish sonic onslaught is anchored around dancey rhythms, atypical synthesizer work, timely saxophone growls, as well as goth rock-esque melodies that serve to recount bizarre humor-laden tales from a derelict parallel universe.

Since forming in 2021, the band has toured North America and Europe, sharing the stage with likes of The KVB, BODEGA, Sheer Mag, Iceage, and Model/Actriz, while also taking part in events such as SXSW, Treefort Festival, Art Rock Festival, Hopscotch Festival, and M for Montreal. CDSM’s introductory EP, Hell Stairs (2022), was both glamorous and bleak, swanky and derelict, uplifting and crushing, described by the band as “hedonism clinking in your glass, change jingling in the pit of your chest.” Atlanta’s hot new commodity followed with a slew of music videos – “GOGO” (2023), “Entertainment” (2023), “DOM” (2023), and “SHADY” (2024) – amidst a stretch that saw them bring their sweaty live set to the very best underground venues the United States, Canada and Europe have to offer.

This new offering, perhaps the subliminal playlist of a jukebox of divine sadistic temptations, does not “scratch that itch” as much as it literally tears the whole limb off… to be more specific: the severance of our head from the rest of our body by way of trance-induced maniacal head-banging. Convertible Hearse is potent with frantic social commentary, tongue-in-cheek dystopian allegories, racy innuendo, vile storytelling, as well as occasional over-the-top sentimental drivel for good measure, CDSM methodically infusing copious amounts of satire into the album’s lore without ever losing the thread. Harking back to their D.I.Y. roots as well as their penchant for punk music you can dance to, the Atlanta outfit meddle heavily with style to produce clever death disco that’s all at once catchy, challenging, subversive, exhilarating, and hilarious.

The collective will embark on a European tour starting September 9, 2025, crossing Belgium, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Denmark and the UK.
