Bay Area shoegaze band Pure Hex is thrilled to share its new single ‘Trick of the Light,’ and its accompanying music video, out everywhere on Friday, January 17. The last song on the band’s forthcoming record “Spilling/Five of Tears,” ‘Trick of the Light’ expresses gratitude for the moments you wish you could keep from slipping away. “It’s bittersweet and beautiful,” says lead vocalist Marta Alvarez. “It will call you back from the worlds of what now and what will be, and remind you that you can only ever really experience the now.”
Born in San Francisco’s DIY music scene, Pure Hex is a 5-piece band conjured up from their own spellbinding take on alternative rock and 90s grunge nostalgia. Reminiscent of Deftones, The Smashing Pumpkins and Mazzy Star, Pure Hex hits you hard with swirling guitars and colossal drums and keep you drawn in with dreamy, haunting vocals.
