Luxembourg-based trio Pleasing releases new EP for us to feel lonely, via Two Steps Twice with an immersive show at Kulturfabrik (LU), on January 18th.
for us to feel lonely is Pleasing’s second of the two interlinked EPs coming out at the start of the new year on 17 January. Having learnt to deal with the frightening feelings and states of depression, lack of meaning and hope in the previous EP for us to escape, released in 2023, the new EP explores the burning feeling of loneliness. It delves into the raw and unfiltered emotions that surface when escapism gives way to introspection. If for us to escape was about running from the chaos, for us to feel lonely confronts it head-on, exploring themes of trauma, connection, and the complicated beauty of human vulnerability. Through vivid lyrics and haunting melodies, this EP captures the struggle of finding oneself amidst pain and alienation. It’s about acknowledging pain as part of the human experience and finding solace in the act of feeling—together and alone.
