LIGER Released New Single “Lost In The Darkness”

A German alternative rock band with captivating guitar riffs, a powerful voice and catchy basslines. Anyone who experiences LIGER live will undoubtedly remember the captivating show led by the frontman’s distinctive moves. Together, the five musicians from Aachen produce a mixture of cross-genre melodies with profound lyrics in English, inspired by real life and the fictional parallel world of singer Mephaixtopheles. 

Founded in Bristol (UK) in 2011, the band will release their music under the name REDNIGHT until 2021. Determined to leave this era behind, they reinvented themselves during the pandemic-related break and returned to the scene as LIGER. The single “We Were Gods” immediately made it into the Rock Top 30 of Berlin radio StarFM for five weeks after its release, alongside bands like The Luka State and Måneskin.

Over 10 years of band history, an EP, a studio album and around 100 shows played, including successful slots at festivals such as “Rhön-Rock”, “Ract!” and “KimikoFestival”.LIGER is attracting attention, especially after the rebranding in 2022, and this is reflected in articles in Visions, Musix, MoreCore and Radioplays. The single “We Were Gods” made it into the Rock Top 30 of Berlin rock radio station StarFM for five weeks at the end of 2022 alongside bands like The Luka State and Måneskin. It was clear early on that the Aachen-based band was different from the other rock bands in the nation. They formed back in 2011 in Bristol (UK) during a music exchange and have been carrying this spirit forward to this day. Under the band name REDNIGHT, they released their first EP “Out of Control” early on and regularly played shows in large parts of Germany. After a break due to the pandemic, the band changed their name to LIGER in 2022. The four Aacheners combine their different genre influences from metal, rock, jazz and pop and thus merge into a hybrid, just like the LIGER from lion and tiger. With the singles released in 2022, LIGER frees themselves from a time of uncertainty and creates their genre-bending melodies with profound English lyrics inspired by real life and the fictional parallel world of the singer.
