A break in the song to sum up the over all theme of most of Myatt’s work. Coming to terms that life will never quite end up as we expect and nobody knows what they’re doing.
It’s a message some would associate with melancholia but Myatt shows the beauty in the unknown. Rolling with the punches while dancing on thin ice and making the most of it.
WHEN I’M DEAD JUST THROW ME IN THE TRASH is the third and final release off his most recent project. A 3 song e.p. titled SELF HELP WANTED ADS. Opening with the title track to his more familiar punk rock roots. Then branching off to a more folk rock tune with the sophomore SENORITA IN THE SALMON DRESS. The concluding track WHEN DEAD comes as the perfect culmination of coming to terms and letting go. The sound is a more thoughtful and somber yet upbeat piece showing maturity and acceptance while still able to signal some trademark wittiness.
Myatt is already planning ahead for his next project with no plans to slow down and we can expect more to come in 2025.
