Dude Safari – Love Me Like You Want Me

Love Me Like You Want Me” is the latest track by Dude Safari, an excellent English quartet based in Surrey. It’s their fourth piece of work in 2024, arriving as an adequate follow-up of “Chaise Longue,” “Sucker Punch,” and “High In The Clouds,” three excellent compositions released earlier this year that you should immediately check out. Lyrically, the song talks about self-belief, self-esteem, self-worth, and believing in yourself. Soundwise, Dude Safari combines several complementary music genres to illustrate such luxuriant sonic imagery. Perhaps grunge comes to mind first, but you’ll notice how some other sonic ingredients borrowed from alternative rock, indie rock, pop-punk, and grunge pop found their way into this sonic equation. These experienced musicians use all these elements as more than essential enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details to boost this track to an entirely new level while simultaneously remaining loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, these experiments with diverse but complementary styles resulted in a catchy tune that will instantly catch the attention of even the pickiest music aficionados.

As soon as you press play, you’ll notice that these folks are not joking around with their sound. Each vocal, sonic, and rhythmic maneuver has its place, and purpose, making “Love Me Like You Want Me” such a fine piece of sonic artistry. The song arrives with perfect structure, garnered with many intricate segments, brilliant ideas, and marvelous orchestrations. The guitars reign supreme in the mix, with all those heavily distorted riffs and chord progressions defining the backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon. The interplay between rhythm and lead guitar is vividly hearable from scratch to finish, as they continuously collide for dominance while creating such a rich and luxurious ambiance. Besides this profoundly melodic soundscape, there’s a raw, abrasive, gritty undercurrent, achieved by thoughtfully stacking layers of distortion. Still, the lead vocal performance steals the show here. You’ll hear how a skillful singer commands attention and guides the listening apparatus through each section of the song while emphasizing instrumentations to the max. His impressive vocal range expertly balances low, mid, and high notes while decorating everything Dude Safari intended to achieve with their latest song. Also, it’s good to mention that this passionate, sincere, confident, powerful vocal performance perfectly matches guitar works, making this song such a pleasant listening experience worth repeating over and over again.

Of course, this composition wouldn’t sound this good without the excellent rhythm section. You’ll notice how all those profoundly detailed, audible, warm-sounding basslines rumble beneath the guitars, offering more than necessary heftiness, clearness, and deepness while binding all the orchestrations with rhythmic patterns. The highly skillful drummer keeps all these instrumentations in line while dictating the groove and pace with tastefully assembled, expertly performed, well-accentuated, groovy beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. Dude Safari thought about even the tiniest details and nuances, so if guitar works act as a perfect backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon, then the rhythm section serves as a backdrop, binding everything together. “Love Me Like You Want Me” is a catchy, memorable, engaging alternative rock track that combines some of the finest properties of grunge, indie rock, pop-punk, and grunge pop. Therefore, these experienced musicians prove that alternative and grunge music can still sound fresh, unique, innovative, and exciting. They poured heart and soul into this composition, making it such a pleasant listening experience worth repeating over and again. As soon as you hear the first notes and beats, “Love Me Like You Want Me” will urge you to place this song on your playlist. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
