Formoe – Fugio

Fugio” is the latest composition by Formoe, a profoundly talented Norwegian artist. It’s the first piece of work in 2024, arriving as an adequate follow-up of “Always” and “Dreams Of Yesterday;” two excellent tracks released last year that you should immediately check out. Soundwise, Formoe embraces an entire collection of various styles to illustrate such rich and luxurious sonic imagery. Perhaps indie pop comes to mind first, but you’ll notice how some other genres like dream pop, chillwave, chillout, chill step, cinematic ambient, new age, world music, and many others found their way into this sonic equation. Formoe uses all these additional elements as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details to uplift his latest composition on an entirely new level while remaining loyal to the primary sonic direction. Therefore, these experimentations with different but complementary styles resulted in a magnificent instrumental composition that will resonate with the broader auditorium and beyond.

From the onset, you’ll notice how Formoe put heart and soul into his track. “Fugio” arrives with so many ear-appealing sonic and rhythmic maneuvers, ready to satisfy even the pickiest music enthusiasts. The entire song structure carries many intricate segments, adorned with brilliant ideas and exceptional musicianship. The keys and synths play a significant role in this sonic equation, as they build a perfect backdrop for all other instrumentations to shine upon. You’ll notice an entire amalgam of pleasant sequences, ambiances, arpeggiated chord progressions, themes, leads, melodies, harmonies, and other sonic delicacies lurking around and creating an otherworldly listening experience worth repeating over and over again. Formoe also incorporated some guitar works, usually presented through various accentuations, riffs, chord progressions, and leads. Like synths, guitars are here with the sole purpose of spicing things up and enhancing everything to an entirely new level. The subtle interplay between acoustic and electric guitar gives more depth and complexity to the composition.

Of course, this number wouldn’t sound this good without the rock-solid rhythm section, which serves as a backbone that propels the remainder of the instrumentations. You’ll notice how the synth basslines give more rawness, heaviness, depth, and clarity while rumbling beneath the synths and guitars. These low ends also bind everything together, making a cohesive whole that remains perfect from scratch to finish. In the meantime, the stable rhythmic patterns keep everything in line while dictating groove and pace with tastefully assembled and flawlessly performed beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. Formoe thought out even the tiniest details and nuances while writing, composing, arranging, and producing his latest track, and each instrumentation plays a significant song in shaping such a luxurious, mesmerizing, otherwordly sound. “Fugio” carries an epic cinematic ambiance crossed with some of the finest properties of various instrumental music genres, chillwave, dream, and indie pop. It’s a cleverly assembled composition worth spinning over and over again. The track is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
