Experience The Raw Energy Of YARD’s Latest Single ‘Bend’

YARD are the electrifying three-piece electro-noise band from Dublin, and are back with their latest single ‘Bend’. Known for their intense and immersive sensory experiences, YARD bridges the gap between techno and noise rock, creating an auditory onslaught that leaves audiences sweaty, energised, and strangely unnerved. With their eerie mascot ‘Bucketman’ visually representing their unique sound, YARD is rapidly carving out a niche in the Irish music scene and now way beyond.

Since their inception, YARD has shared stages with the likes of Shame, Psychotic Monks, Mandy Indiana, CLT DRP, Scaler, Enola Gay, and Chalk. Their electrifying live performances have earned them coveted slots at major festivals such as Eurosonic, The Great Escape, and Primavera Pro in 2024, marking a significant upward trajectory for the band. Drawing inspiration from musical heavyweights like SUUNS, Gilla Band, Death Grips, and Nine Inch Nails, YARD’s sound is a concoction of aggressive yet infectious electronic post-punk.

Their latest single ‘Bend’ truly encapsulates YARD’s unique sonic offering. It’s a track that radiates energy and aggression, blending heavy rock and grunge with distinctive electronic elements. The song opens with their signature blinding electronics, smashing drums, and powerful guitar riffs, all set against the bellowing vocals of Emmet White. The result is a piece of organised chaos that demands attention and leaves listeners clamouring to experience YARD live.

As the song progresses, it builds into a crescendo of electronica and post-punk energy, ending in an epic explosion that lingers long after the final note. Lead singer Emmet White explains, “When you are caught in cycles of ‘bending over backwards’ for people and find it hard to realign yourself. Overextending yourself into others’ realities so much that you can’t find your own. Not recognising the contorted version of yourself that is left after accommodating the wants of many. Leaving you with physical reactions to this situation with tight, tense and involuntary body movements.”

A recent live review encapsulated the YARD experience perfectly: “In their presence, you see – and feel – them painstakingly crafting every note and sound with their bare hands, wrestling with different sockets, switches, strings, or even their voices. The venue was transformed into this factory of raw, unadulterated noise which kept us all at the mercy of the sound – collectively banging our heads in synchronicity.”

YARD’s summer and year ahead are packed with tours and festival performances, promising to cement ‘Bend’ as a fan favourite. With their relentless energy and innovative sound, YARD is poised to continue their meteoric rise. ‘Bend’ is an anthem for the disenchanted and a testament to their ability to capture and convey the raw, unfiltered emotions of modern life.
