Chandra – Lifted

Lifted” is the latest track by Chandra, a Bristol-based band helmed by singer, songwriter, and musician Chandra Nair. It’s their second piece of work in 2024, arriving after “I’ll Be There,” another exceptional single you should immediately check out. Lyrically, “Lifted” resonates with positive vibes by carrying the positive message of hope and resilience. The band explains how there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel, and that everything will be ok. For those who might missed our previous writings about this exceptional band, Chandra combines many different but complementary music genres to illustrate such rich and luxurious sonic imagery. Perhaps alternative rock comes to mind first, but you’ll notice some other styles lurking around. Don’t be surprised if you stumble upon all the vital ingredients of pop rock, indie rock, soft rock, and many more, because these experienced and highly creative musicians fully stack their latest song, ensuring that even the pickiest listeners will spin it repeatedly.

With the initial notes and beats, you’ll realize these folks are not joking around with their music. Chandra left no stone unturned while writing, composing, arranging, recording, and producing “Lifted.” The track arrives with a cleverly constructed structure, garnered with many intricate segments, brilliant ideas, and marvelous orchestrations. “Lifted” shines with impressive vocal, sonic, and rhythmic maneuvers from scratch to finish, so a pleasant listening experience is more than guaranteed. As usual, Chandra’s outstanding vocal performance is a centerpiece of this fine piece of sonic artistry, spreading a positive message through clever lyricism. His impressive vocal range seamlessly balances low, mid, and high notes while commanding attention and keeping the listeners engaged from beginning to end. In the meantime, the interplay between rhythm and lead guitars shapes an adequate backdrop for all the vocals to shine upon. You’ll hear how the expertly arranged chord progressions and riffs resonate on one side while the other shines with catchy, memorable, ethereal themes, melodies, harmonies, and other sonic maneuvers. It’s nearly mindblowing how the vocals and guitars match together harmoniously, allowing the listener to take a deep dive into Chandra’s expansive sonic universe.

Of course, “Lifted” wouldn’t sound this good without the additional back vocals and singalongs, which add that anthemic vibe. Chandra also thought about the rhythm section, so you’ll hear how equally intricate, audible, warm-sounding basslines rumble beneath these orchestrations, offering more heftiness, deepness, and clearness to the mix while simultaneously binding guitars and drums. The exceptional drumming propels this track to new heights by keeping everything in line and dictating groove and pace with tastefully arranged beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. Every band member plays a significant role in this sonic equation. Chandra wrote and composed an excellent alternative rock song where all the vital elements of the genre are vividly hearable from scratch to finish. Once again, he showcases all his songwriting, composing, arranging, and producing abilities by implementing only the finest ideas and instrumentations. It’s one of those tracks that will immediately get into your ears and refuse to let go even after it ends. “Lifted” is a masterpiece you surely don’t want to miss. Head to your favorite streaming platform and listen to it loud.
