Luxembourg-based trio Pleasing releases ‘BLEAK,’ first single off their upcoming new EP due for release this fall via label Two Steps Twice.
In 2018, a leap into the unknown left Luxembourg-based artist Patrick Miranda wanting something more. Together with Xavier Hofmann and Sacha Ewen, they founded Pleasing. Since their formation, in the midst of Patrick’s searching for relief from complicated emotions, the alias have been embarking on a journey of exploring often stigmatised topics of depression, loneliness, meaningless and the attempts to learn to live with those feelings, appealing to various audiences and securing spots at major French festivals Motorcultor and Francofolies de la Rochelle in 2023. Now about to release the second of the two interlinked EP’s, Pleasing are continuing their search of deeper meanings, aiming to extend their reach towards more audiences and territories.
Single BLEAK is a bleak look into the life of a flower, waiting to bloom. Pleasing are placing two polar opposites – an elegant and alluring flower against its unpoetic short and in a way hopeless life, forcing the listeners to see beyond the visible beauty, creating a captivating metaphor with a focus on the concept of meaning, which Pleasing are known for.
