Luxembourg-based trio Pleasing releases ‘black leather boots‘ third single off their upcoming new EP due for release this fall via label Two Steps Twice.
Since the formation of Pleasing, in the midst of Patrick Miranda’s searching for relief from complicated emotions, the alias have been embarking on a journey of exploring often stigmatised topics of depression, loneliness, meaningless and the attempts to learn to live with those feelings, appealing to various audiences and securing spots at major French festivals Motorcultor and Francofolies de la Rochelle in 2023. Now about to release the second of the two interlinked EP’s, Pleasing are continuing their search of deeper meanings, aiming to extend their reach towards more audiences and territories.
After releasing singles “bleak” and “there’s something wrong with everybody” earlier this year, Pleasing are back with “black leather boots” a song that delves into the raw and deeply personal experience of living with unresolved trauma, particularly the lingering effects of a troubled relationship. The imagery of climbing a “mountain of trauma” symbolises the ongoing struggle with emotional pain and the triggers that surface with every step forward. Pleasing is performing at Reeperbahn Festival today in Hamburg and will play SWN Festival in Cardiff this autumn.
