Tuskhead – Breaking The Man

Tuskhead - Breaking The Man

Breaking the Man” is the latest single by Tuskhead, a solo project of Dutch singer-songwriter Patrick van Zandwijk. It’s a perfect follow-up of his previous works, “Live & On Air” and “Little Lights,” both released in 2023. Soundwise, Tuskhead combines an entire palette of different complementary music genres to illustrate such rich and luxurious sonic imagery. He combines the singer-songwriter aesthetics with some of the finest properties borrowed from alt-folk, indie folk, folk rock, soft rock, acoustic rock, country, and Americana. These experimentations with various styles resulted in a mesmerizing composition, suitable for anyone even remotely into these genres and beyond. You’ll also notice how he uses these additional elements as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details to uplift composition on a new level, while he simultaneously stays loyal to the primary sonic direction.

As soon as you press play, you’ll immediately notice that Tuskhead thought about everything while writing, composing, arranging, recording, and producing his latest single. From storytelling lyricism to exceptional ideas distilled into exceptional musicianship, “Breaking the Man” has everything you ever needed from an alt-folk song. Patrick van Zandwijk’s outstanding vocal performance emphasizes all the segments and instrumentations, making “Breaking the Man” such a pleasant listening experience worth repeating over and over again. His vocal harmonies perfectly balance between low, mid, and high notes, decorating everything he intended to do with his latest track. Of course, this number wouldn’t sound this good without excellent guitar performance. You’ll hear how the flawlessly recorded, tastefully arranged, magnificently performed chord progressions, melodies, and harmonies serve as a perfect backdrop that supports Patrick van Zandwijk’s vocal performance. A subtle layer of slide guitar seamlessly glides over the top, contributing to the complexity of the song.

Still, that’s not all. Quite the contrary, Tuskhead even included some harmonica to spice things up a little bit. You’ll also hear how equally complex, vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines offer more heaviness, clarity, and depth, while the outstanding drumming performance based upon moderate, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics dictates groove and pace. Tuskhead incorporated every instrument with more than a good reason, and they work to the advantage of this alt-folk masterpiece. Tuskhead also invested all his experience, knowledge, skills, talent, and ideas while writing and composing “Breaking the Man,” and his effort unquestionably paid off in a song that resonates with such a fresh and unique ambiance from scratch to finish. You should put “Breaking the Man” on your radar as soon as possible because Patrick van Zandwijk’s Tuskhead is one of those projects that will amaze you with initial notes and beats. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
