Martyn Scott – Turn

Martyn Scott, a Rotheram-based singer-songwriter, recently released his new single “Turn.” Inspired by 60s pop, jazz guitar greats, and romantic classical composers, Scott delivers a premium indie rock sound with some of the finest properties borrowed from the mentioned music genres. These subtle touches resulted in a mesmerizing composition where indie rock plays a crucial role, while the additional sonic ingredients serve as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that uplift this song on an entirely new level. It’s nearly mindblowing how these subtle touches improve particular segments, giving more of a fresh and unique take on indie music.

As soon as you press play, you’ll notice how Martyn Scott‘s outstanding vocal performance takes center stage, emphasizing all the sonic and rhythmic maneuvers. These vocal harmonies unquestionably decorate all the semi-distorted leads, themes, melodies, and chord progressions, which serve as a perfect backdrop. Scott cleverly balances low, mid, and high notes with such ease, giving more complexity to all the instrumentations. Of course, this composition wouldn’t sound this good without equally complex, vividly hearable, warm-sounding low-end notes, which offer more than necessary heaviness, depth, and clarity. The exceptional drumming based upon dynamic, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other rhythmic acrobatics provides groove and pace, but also keeps the remainder of the orchestrations in line.

Martyn Scott thought about even the tiniest details while writing, composing, arranging, recording, and producing his latest single. You’ll notice how much attention he spent building a song structure where every guitar solo, melody, chord progression, bassline, and drumming pattern shapes such an ethereal ambiance. His vocal performance comes like a cherry on top, proving that he’s not only an exceptional musician, but an outstanding singer. The combination of retro vibes and a modern approach to songwriting makes “Turn” one of the best indie tracks ever. Right with the initial notes and beats, you’ll hear how he poured all his experience, knowledge, skills, talent, and ideas into this magnificent number.

“Turn” demands your utmost attention, because Martyn Scott offers a fresh perspective on a longevious music genre. His approach to songwriting, composing, and performing differs from anything you can hear on the contemporary scene nowadays. “Turn” will become a staple on your playlist thanks to all the brilliant ideas and exceptional musicianship Martyn Scott invested in it. The single is available on all streaming platforms. Don’t miss it!
