Robert Bacon – Out Of The Blue

Out Of The Blue” is a new single by Robert Bacon, released today via all streaming platforms. It’s the third single by this Nashville, Tennessee-based singer-songwriter and the first song this year. “Out Of The Blue” serves as an adequate follow-up to “What Christmas Means To Me” and “Drinkin’ Thinkin’,” two critically acclaimed songs this exceptional artist released in 2021 and 2022. The song explores the theme of coming to the realization, whether in relationships or missed opportunities in life. It’s a meaningful and relatable number to anyone who took some moments in life for granted.

Soundwise, Robert Bacon combines the singer-songwriter approach with some of the finest properties borrowed from many complementary music genres. Perhaps country comes to mind first, but you’ll unquestionably stumble upon some elements taken from Americana, alt-country, bluegrass, indie folk, folk rock, classic rock, etc. Bacon‘s ability to assemble a catchy, meaningful, relatable song by combining all these sonic ingredients goes beyond comprehension. These experimentations resulted in a magnificent display of his experience, knowledge, skills, creativity, talent, ideas, and musicianship. It’s also good to mention that all these additional elements serve as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that uplift this composition on an entirely new level, while the artist remains loyal to the primary sonic direction.

“Out Of The Blue” unquestionably takes country music to a new level, and you’ll notice how some modern techniques, new approaches, and marvelous musicianship revitalized this genre. Still, Robert Bacon pays homage to traditional country music, and you’ll notice that many times throughout the song. His exceptional vocal harmonies perfectly balance between low, mid, and high notes, emphasizing all the instrumentations. The cleverly arranged themes, leads, melodies, chord progressions, and riffs serve as a mesmerizing soundscape that supports his vocal maneuvers but also shapes the ambiance. The gentle violin accentuations decorate and emphasize particular segments during the verses, while the reverby slide guitar does the same during the choruses. Of course, this composition wouldn’t sound so powerful without equally complex, vividly hearable, warm-sounding basslines, which provide more than necessary heaviness, depth, and clarity. You’ll also hear how the outstanding drumming performance keeps the instrumentation in line, but also provides groove and pace with moderate, well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics.

Robert Bacon thoroughly planned the entire structure, so you’ll stumble upon many sonic delicacies and surprises while listening to this modern country masterpiece. This number showcases Bacon’s ability to revitalize the genre and introduce some new ideas and techniques in traditional songwriting, composing, recording, and producing. You should check out “Out Of The Blue” as soon as possible because it will become one of your favorite tracks this year. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
