Rocket Kings – She’s Going To Mars

She’s Going To Mars” is a second single from “Paving The Way,” a sophomore full-length album by Reading-based indie rock group Rocket Kings. It’s one of those songs that embraces all the vital elements of the genre but also carries some of the finest properties borrowed from other complementary music genres like alternative, soft rock, power pop, and indie pop. These experimentations with various, but similar music genres resulted in an exceptional song that serves as a sneak peek of what you might expect from “Paving The Way.” Also, these additional elements serve more as enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that unquestionably uplift this number on an entirely new level, while the band remains loyal to the initial sonic direction.

One cannot escape the mesmerizing ambiance achieved by cleverly constructing all the instrumentations and the song’s structure. Rocket Kings thoroughly planned each sonic maneuver and rhythmic acrobatic while assembling vocal harmonies, melodies, low-ends, and beats. You’ll immediately notice how the exceptional lead vocal performance balances between low, mid, and high notes, emphasizing everything the remainder of Rocket Kings stacked into their second single. The back vocals also play a significant role in highlighting particular segments, like pre-choruses and choruses. These wisely implemented vocal harmonies are undoubtedly a centerpiece of this track, as they define the melodic aspect in many ways.

The catchy, semi-distorted, ear-appealing chord progressions are another detail you should pay attention to while listening, as they serve as a perfect backdrop for the aforementioned vocal harmonies. Every segment comes with carefully prepared guitar works that will convince you to repeat this track over again. Rocket Kings are pros in creating such an anthemic, groovy, dynamic atmosphere, and the rhythm section plays a key role here. The vividly hearable, equally intricate, warm-sounding basslines provide more than necessary heaviness, depth, and clarity, while the energetic drumming performance based upon well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics offers groove and pace. These two instruments shine with ultimate power, carrying guitars and vocals from scratch to finish.

It’s more than clear that “Rocket Kings” are experienced, highly creative musicians capable of delivering top-notch ideas and musicianship to the table. Their tremendous creativity and talent are on display as they shine in the limelight with exceptional lyricism and instrumentation. “She’s Going To Mars” is more than rock-solid proof of their expertize because this song will immediately convince you to deep dive into their new full-length album. Therefore, check out “She’s Going To Mars” and “Paving The Way.” The single and the album are available on all streaming services.
