The Pulltops – Stronger

With influences rooted in indie rock, alternative, synth rock, and soft rock, The Pulltops sound is unique and instantly recognizable. Take Stronger, their brand-new single, for example. This Milwaukee duo has been working together for decades, starting with cover bands since high school. This long-standing collaboration has allowed them to gradually hone their skills and refine their sound, resulting in a well-crafted and cohesive musical output. Both members are not only exceptional singers but also multi-instrumentalists, which grants them the freedom to experiment with soundscapes and textures. All these qualities are evident in Stronger, where they blend arpeggiated chord progression, equally detailed low-end tones, synthy ambiances, and moderate rhythmic sequences to create a rich, layered sonic landscape that envelops the listener.

As soon as you press play, you’ll immediately notice how the beforementioned music genres shape the sonic direction of this composition. Perhaps continuous levitations between contemporary and old-school indie rock come to mind first, but it is not the only style you will hear while listening to the Stronger. Quite the contrary, The Pulltops are masters of their craft, and this track carries some of the finest properties borrowed from alternative, synth rock, and even psychedelic rock at some points. Still, these additional elements serve as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that unquestionably uplift this song on an entirely new level while The Pulltops remain loyal to the initial sonic direction. Of course, their comprehensive knowledge, experience, skill, talent, and musicianship plays a significant role in shaping this ambiance.

Stronger has a profoundly complex structure where all the layers of detailed orchestrations emphasize each other. All these layers of sound evoke some nostalgia but with an omnipresent touch of modern music included in songwriting and production. Besides The Pulltops jaw-dropping musicianship, you will notice how their perfectly paired vocal harmonies are the centerpiece of this number. The duo switches between low, mid, and high notes with such ease, and it’s nearly mindblowing how these vocal arrangements decorate each segment. Another quality of The Pulltops is their ability sense of balance and precision. The duo precisely implemented every chord progression, bassline, and rhythmic sequence into Stronger, and there is no doubt they sound like a singular organism from scratch to finish. The Pulltops are not joking around with their music, and you should check out their outstanding new single as soon as possible. Also, keep an eye on their social media pages because Stronger is just one of twenty new tracks they plan to unleash in the next two ears. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
