The Sons Of James – The Real Me

The Sons of James have done it again with the release of their latest track, The Real Me. The band has managed to capture the omnipresent experience of hiding our true selves behind facades and masks, producing a relatable and impactful song that listeners cannot help but connect with on a personal level. Their exceptional music performance adds another layer of depth to this composition, with explosive energy driven by energetic rhythm section and profoundly melodic rhythm guitars. The Sons Of James nurture a style that resembles the late nineties skate punk sound, so if you’re a fan of anything labels like Epitaph, Fat Wreck, or Nitro released a couple of decades ago, The Real Me will be right up your alley. They created a sound that is familiar but also fresh and unique, giving listeners something new to fall in love with while still tapping into a sense of nostalgia.

What sets The Real Me apart, however, are the powerful lyrics. The lyrics tug at the heartstrings, resonating with anyone who has ever felt like hiding their true self from the world. As soon as you press play, you’ll immediately connect with everything The Sons Of James wanted to convey through their song. You’ll notice how those chord progressions and riffs perfectly pair the equally complex warm-sounding low-end notes while the energetic drumming based on perfectly accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics dictates the pace and keeps the remainder of the band in line. The Sons Of James also thought about the vocal arrangements, and you’ll immediately notice how to lead vocal harmonies, back vocals, and singalongs match every segment of the song.

Overall, The Real Me is a fantastic track that showcases everything that The Sons of James are capable of. Their sound is on point, the music is energetic and full of life, and the lyrics hit home in a big way. If you’re looking for a meaningful and impactful song, then The Real Me is a perfect choice. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
