Juliet Callahan – Depth Of Soul

After many outstanding singles like Numb, Typical, Burning, Venom, Ghost Girl, and Spotlight, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Juliet Callahan returns with another exceptional composition that will unquestionably appeal to alternative rock fans. Depth Of Soul is the first song in 2023 which serves as an appropriate continuation of previous works. However, it also showcases many innovations in songwriting, composing, arranging, and producing. Juliet Callahan remains loyal to an alternative rock sound, but Depth Of Soul also carries some of the finest properties borrowed from other complementary music genres. Therefore, don’t be surprised if you stumble upon some grunge, emo, post-rock, indie rock, indie pop, or dark pop along the way. These additional elements serve as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that uplift this number even more.

Depth Of Soul commences with a calm, soothing, relaxing, nearly cathartic ambiance achieved by robust, detailed, half-time rhythmic sequences, equally complex ambiances, and keyboard leads. The song remains at the same tempo from scratch to finish, but the artist introduces luxurious orchestrations built upon heavily distorted chords and riffs, massive basslines, and profoundly dynamic beats. Each upcoming segment introduces even more details, usually achieved by sequenced, arpeggiated keys, synths, ambiances, and percussive accentuations. However, Callahan’s outstanding vocal performance remains a centerpiece of Depth Of Soul from beginning to end, and this track wouldn’t resonate with so much emotion and power without it. You’ll notice how much time, ideas, knowledge she invested into this number, and the effort unquestionably paid off in a masterpiece you’ll gladly revisit anytime you need calm alternative rock music. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
