Newcastle-based artist Lizzie Esau has released a mindblowing amount of singles since 2021. Tracks like What If I Just Kept Driving, Caffeine, Bitter Weather, Shade Of Green, The Enemy, Bleak Sublime, Stay On The Phone, and Jellyfish are more than good reasons why you should check out this prolific indie artist as soon as possible. Killer is her brand-new single, released via all streaming platforms today. It’s a treat for everyone who likes indie rock music performed with a perfect balance between harmony and power. Perhaps Killer explores all the crucial elements of an indie rock sound, but Lizzie also incorporated other music genres in her new song. You’ll notice how some of the finest properties of alternative or grunge found their way into this mesmerizing composition. These additional sonic ingredients unquestionably enhance, accentuate, and decorate every idea Lizzie Esau included in this number.
Killer isn’t another contemporary indie track you stumble upon on streaming services every day. Quite the contrary, it’s one of those enormously catchy songs consisting of colossal, powerful, but simultaneously ear-appealing and cathartic ambiances where soothing melodies collide with heavy riffs. Lizzie thought about everything while assembling Killer, and each segment carries many sonic delicacies worth revisiting every time you need some perfectly executed indie music. You’ll notice how each lead, theme, chord progression, and riff has its place in this sonic equation while the massive, warm-sounding low-end tones lurk right beneath the guitar channels. The guitars are not overly distorted, but they’re still abrasive enough to give a bit of dirtiness to the beforementioned ambiance. Nothing would sound so energetic without rhythmic sequences built upon well-accentuated moderate beats, breaks, and drum fills. You’ll hear how continuous splashes over the cymbals enhance the choruses on an entirely new level. Of course, Esau’s outstanding vocal performance is a centerpiece of this composition, and this track would sound the same without cleverly performed low, mid, and high notes. Killer will be your go-to song whenever you need cleverly arranged indie or alternative rock music. You should check out this number as soon as possible. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
