It’s been a while since we had Snakedoctors on our pages, and now they’re back with another fine piece of sonic artistry. Brighter is their latest single that promotes Waiting, an upcoming full-length album. It’s good to mention that Brighter features Nik Hughes, drummer of the legendary rock group Bush. Soundwise, this number explores the fundamentals of alternative rock, but as usually is the case, Snakedoctors spiced things up by adding other elements borrowed from the complementary music genres. Therefore, don’t be surprised if you stumble upon some of the finest sonic properties of grunge, garage rock, indie rock, and post-punk. Brighter handles all these styles pretty well due to the fact Snakedoctors are exceptional musicians who know how to write, compose, record, and produce ear-appealing tracks.
It’s nearly mindblowing how Snakedoctors combine raw energy, dynamics, and aggression of all the beforementioned music genres, but their latest track still resonates with such a calm, soothing, pleasant ambiance. The bands capable of doing this are rare nowadays, but these folks somehow managed to do it. You’ll enjoy all the arpeggiated chord progressions, heavily distorted riffs, vividly hearable low-end tones, keys and moderate but cleverly accentuated rhythmic sequences. Each instrument plays a significant role in shaping such a mesmerizing ambiance that forces your listening apparatus to delve even deeper into the essence of Snakedoctors’ sound. Of course, the lead vocalist provides another layer of harmonies that uplifts Brighter on an entirely new level. The band thought about every detail invested into their latest single, and Brighter is such an excellent overture to the upcoming album. The song is available on all streaming platforms.
