Candid – Tonight

After so many outstanding compositions, such as Moving On, Rumours, Lay Me Down, Breathless, Time Will Tell, Where Do We Go, Concrete Jungle, Pulling Away, Numbers Game, Through All The Fighting, Wasted Time, and Truth, Coventry-based quintet Candid returns with another exceptional composition that will instantly win the hearts of indie rock fans.

Perhaps Tonight carries everything you dearly love about indie rock, but there’s more than meets the eye. Candid almost solely relies on the fundamentals of contemporary indie rock, but you’ll stumble upon many complementary music genres that improve the ambiance of this song even more. There are sonic ingredients borrowed from alternative, post-punk, synth, Brit-pop, and indie-pop that are vividly hearable from scratch to finish. However, Candid remains loyal to their indie rock roots, so these additional enhancements, accentuations, and decorations don’t harm their primary sonic direction. Still, don’t be surprised if you stumble upon some other genres because Candid are an experienced musicians who know how to write and compose luxurious numbers full of impressive ideas and musicianship.

As soon as this composition commences, you’ll immediately notice ear-appealing synth leads and detailed chord progressions decorated with tremolo effect. Alongside a generous amount of distortion, the usage of this particular effect unquestionably gives more complexity and depth to the song. The band thought about the ambiance a lot, so you’ll immediately hear how both instruments resonate with calm, soothing, relaxing, and cathartic tones. The lead vocal harmonies are solely responsible for another layer of melodies that lurk in this track from scratch to finish. Tonight wouldn’t sound this good without all these exceptionally performed singing parts. Nothing would sound so profoundly dynamic without equally detailed low-end tones and energetic rhythmic sequences built upon catchy beats, various accentuations, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. The entire band bursts with tremendous experience, and you’ll hear it with every orchestration these skillful musicians implemented into their latest single. Tonight is available on all streaming platforms.
