Parker – Melancholy Way

After the Hunky Dory EP and critically acclaimed single like How Life Works, a Gold Coast-based solo artist Parker returns with Melancholy Way, an exceptional composition that will unquestionably appeal to all indie fans. Maybe this particular track explores the fundamentals of indie sound, but Parker fully stacked it with some of the finest properties borrowed from other complementary music genres. Therefore, you’ll stumble upon sonic ingredients borrowed from surf rock, rock ‘n’ roll, power pop, and indie pop. These additional elements serve as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, and decorations that uplift this song on an entirely new level, while indie rock remains the primary sonic direction.

It’s nearly mindblowing how vocal harmonies perfectly fit the ear-appealing background, built upon mesmerizing chord progressions, reverby lead melodies, warm-sounding basslines, and energetic beats. Each instrument plays a significant role in shaping the sound of Melancholy Way, but the vocal segments remain the centerpiece of the song from scratch to finish. It’s also surprising how Melancholy way continuously levitates from retro to more modern sound, so there’s no doubt this composition will appeal to anyone who profoundly loves indie music. Parker thought about everything while assembling this song, and there’s no doubt you will enjoy the calm, soothing, relaxing, but cheerful ambiance that constantly lurks in the Melancholy Way. The entire track has a perfect structure with many cleverly arranged segments, so this track is more than solid proof of Parker’s brilliant songwriting, composing, and producing. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
