Hounds Haul – Under Glacial

Hounds Haul are back with another fine piece of sonic artistry that will unquestionably appeal to all the fans of alternative rock music. Under Glacial is their seventh song in a row from the series of singles launched in 2020 and a second track this year. However, it’s the first track that announces The Odyssey EP. This composition is an appropriate continuation of their previous works, but it also indicates the band’s much darker, heavier, energetic sonic direction. Judging by how these folks assembled Under Glacial, I can only say they handle this powerful, echoic, contemporary alternative rock sound pretty well. They fully stack Under Glacial with everything you ever needed from a modern alt-rock song but don’t be surprised if you stumble upon some surprises along the way.

Of course, this track wouldn’t sound this good if Hounds Haul excluded some elements. You’ll notice some other sonic ingredients borrowed from genres like indie rock and post-rock that uplift Under Glacial on an entirely new level. This number has a perfect structure built upon thoughtfully arranged segments decorated with brilliant ideas and exceptional musicianship. Hounds Haul also thought about all the enhancements, accentuations, and decorations that make Under Glacial so ear-appealing, pleasant, and cathartic. Each band member acts like a significant cog of the unstoppable sonic machinery, and their top-notch performance plays a big part in shaping the sound of the entire song. You’ll be blown away by all the vocal harmonies, melodies, chord progressions, riffs, basslines, and rhythmic sequences invested in this song. The band begins with calm and moderate orchestrations, but it paces up as the song progresses, so if you’re into profoundly dynamic alternative rock tracks, Under Glacial will be right up your alley. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
