President Elect – Addicted

After the releases like Lost Souls, City Lights, Last Forever, Nothing’s Changed EP, and self-titled EP, London-based power pop trio President Elect returns with another fine piece of sonic artistry. Addicted is their fourth composition in a row from the series of singles launched in 2019 and the second track this year. Addicted comes as a logical continuation of their self-titled EP, but this song unquestionably showcases some sound innovations. President Elect explores the fundamentals of power pop while simultaneously implementing some of the finest properties of contemporary indie pop, indie rock, and pop punk music. Therefore, their music sounds like a thoughtfully assembled clash between retro and modern sound.

President Elect thoroughly planned each segment of their latest single. You’ll notice the mid-fifties rock ‘n’ roll/power pop ambiance heavily drenched into some of the finest eighties pop punk-inspired orchestrations. Still, the song carries contemporary indie rock arrangements, so Addicted may seem like another simplistic pop track, but it is quite complex. However, it’s an easy-listening composition that will suit your listening apparatus no matter which music genre you prefer. These experienced musicians invested powerful riffs, equally good warm-sounding basslines, energetic rhythmic sequences, and harmonious vocal parts, so Addicted possesses everything you ever needed from an indie song. The single is available on all streaming platforms.
