The Vrbs – The Vrbs

Here’s some more good alternative music for your listening pleasures. I have to admit that we usually have a lot of alternative rock bands on our pages, but not so many good ones like The Vrbs. Don’t get me wrong, they all sound good, but The Vrbs has something special that keeps them better than the rest. The band somehow avoids all the cliches of the contemporary alternative rock scene. However, their music still sounds modern enough to satisfy that side of the auditorium. It’s a one-of-a-kind band that unquestionably deserves your attention. Therefore, I would like to talk about their recently released full-length album.

The band previously published this material in two volumes, The White Album and The Black Album. The first volume, or The White Album, carries eight compositions, while the volume two, or The Black Album, carries seven numbers. Some music nerds would argue if these recordings are actual albums or extended play releases, but I’ll leave that debate to them. The only important thing right now is that this self-titled full-length sounds great from scratch to finish. What I really like the most about The Vrbs is their ability to adapt any music genre to work to their advantage. Therefore, you’ll stumble upon many other music genres along the way.

Perhaps The Vrbs claim alternative rock as their primary weapon of choice, but this material carries some of the best properties of classic punk rock, mod revival, power pop, hard rock, indie rock, and classic pop-rock. Believe me when I say these guys know what they’re doing, and they’re doing it well. Each chord progression, guitar riff, chant, singalong, bassline, and beat are cleverly assembled by musicians who know how to play their instruments. Their tracks are backed up with brilliant ideas, excellent musicianship, and knowledge about music genres they dearly love to explore. Each segment, melody, harmony, and theme fits quite well, and you’ll have a hard time finding a diverse and unique group like this. The Vrbs pay so much attention to song structures, arrangements, accentuations, and other details that define flawlessly performed alternative rock songs. You’ll also notice how their music easily transits from the beforementioned genre to mod, punk rock, indie, rock’n’roll, and gets back to alternative rock. You unquestionably need to hear their self-titled full-length release to comprehend their brilliance. The Vrbs LP is available for listening on all streaming platforms.
