Khartoum Release Some Days EP Via Young Poet

After spending the last few months cranking out a fresh and exciting array of offerings, which have included ‘I Was Born’, ‘Ten People’, and the recent anthem ‘Chromosomes’, KHARTOUM now complete the outing of their highly-anticipated sophomore EP ‘Some Days’ through London tastemaker label Young Poet, alongside the release’s explosive title-track.

Known for their subtle mix of 70s swagger and modern indie-rock sound, ‘Some Days’ aims to cement the band’s broad and progressive identity to date. Self-produced by the band and mixed by multi-Grammy award winning mix engineer Eduardo De La Paz (Peace, The Horrors, Noel Gallagher), this new four-track collection oozes warm and inventive aesthetics that aim to highlight the band’s adventurous and distinctive direction throughout.

Speaking about the new EP, they said, “The EP title came about from the sample that’s heard at the very beginning of the title track ‘some days’.. it’s actually an old iPhone recording of an early song that we never properly recorded. It’s been slowed down to match the key of the track so that’s why the vocal sounds so freaky.

“Creating music is like going to a library and taking out a few books, ripping out your favourite pages that day and sticking them together to form a story.

“This EP is simply the result of ‘some days’ we visited the library and tore out some pages.

“I like the feeling that ‘some days’ evokes as a stand alone statement. Some days can be great, some days can be bad, and for no particular reason, but always different. These tracks came together on those great days where we knew from the moment we woke up that something exciting was brewing.”

London three-piece KHARTOUM draw musical influence from contemporaries such as Wolf Alice and Sunflower Bean alongside dissident heroes Primal Scream and Death From Above 1979. The band have been featured on Spotify playlists such as Fresh Finds, All New Rock, Shockwave and have been on thje cover of Hot New Bands along with Tidal’s Indie Britain cover. Further support comes from BBC Radio 1 (Jack Saunders, Gemma Bradley), CLASH, The Line of Best Fit, Wonderland, Dork, Ones To Watch and Earmilk.

KHARTOUM will also be performing at Glastonbury Festival on Thursday 23rd June, performing on the Strummerville Stage from 9pm

KHARTOUM’s new EP ‘Some Days’ is available on all streaming services via Young Poet.
