Portland-based composer, producer, and visual artist Eric Angelo Bessel has released “Pathways,” an expansive new composition offering the first glimpse into his forthcoming album, Illusion of an Inland Ocean. Following his acclaimed releases Visitation (2023) and Mirror at Night (2025), Bessel’s latest work expands his signature blend of ambient, experimental, and electroacoustic soundscapes into his most atmospheric statement to date.
Written, recorded, mixed, and produced entirely by Bessel, “Pathways” blends Mellotrons, textured guitars, and rich analog processing. Composed during early mornings and late nights, the piece moves with the patient, unhurried logic of changing weather, exploring the space where memory, landscape, and observation intersect. Bessel also created the project’s visual identity, reinforcing his reputation as a singular DIY artist. Stream “Pathways” today across all major music platforms.
