Topdown, a five-piece melodic, post hardcore band, began in Austin, Texas in 2024 as a group of transplants from various coastal cities. The line up came together organically on social media while searching for like-minded individuals. When the band began rehearsals, the chemistry clicked and writing began for 2024’s self-released and self-titled, full-length album.
Since then, Topdown have been growing their cohesive chemistry, and that has solidified itself with the next batch of songs. With several members of the band as experienced audio engineers, every record has been written, recorded, and produced entirely in-house. The same crushing energy they bring to the stage is captured in the studio. Drawing influence from ’90s and early-2000s emo, hardcore, and pop punk, their music is driven by muscular guitar riffs and unforgettable hooks. To that end, Topdown deliver a heavy, nostalgic sound with vocals that alternate between anguished screams and atmospheric, reverb-soaked melodies.
