Recorded at the end of 2025 at the new Studija Gateris facility, the band—led by husband-and-wife duo Julien and Rūta Stark—embraced a raw, stripped-back punk rock setup. The album effortlessly veers between post-hardcore intensity, prog-punk, and slacker rock. Standout tracks include the sludge rock opener “Archetype,” the Pavement-inspired “Birds in CGI,” and the gripping lead single “A Trip Down Memory Loss.” Concluding with the atmospheric, lo-fi 2011 home demo “Winter,” Watch The Sword About To Drop establishes a brilliant new benchmark for the global DIY alternative rock underground.
