Released to digital streaming platforms via Heading East Records, “Time Bomb” was produced and engineered by Fred Mascherino (Taking Back Sunday, Say Anything, The Color Fred) and Steve Angello (The Color Fred) at Diver Down Studios in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The track was mixed by Angello and mastered by Mike Kalajian at Rogue Planet Mastering. Listen to it here.
Formed from an old demo collaboration between bassist Brian Quirk and drummer Nathan “Nate Dawg” Lipowitz, “Time Bomb” delivers energy and aggression that pushes the band’s previous boundaries. A driving instrumental holds steady throughout, while collaborative vocals bounce back and forth between lead and harmony. Quirky narrative takes the reins of the verses while sharing a trifecta of back-and-forth leads in the chorus between guitarists Pete Long and Andrew “Dre” Hight. The track desperately seeks to find light in an escape from introspective self-deprication that seems to follow throughout, ultimately determining that this might be the end.
Since 2019, My Cousin’s Girlfriend’s House has carved out their niche in the Philadelphia and East Coast music scenes, continually evolving and honing its sound. Building off a foundation of pop punk, emo, and indie rock, the band’s original material incorporates a touch of each member’s influence and palette for a unique sonic blend. From bluegrass, surf, and garage rock to metal, funk, jam band, punk, and classic rock, MCGH bring a familiar yet fresh take on the four-piece rock-adjacent outfit.
