Written during the stark transition into the New Year as the winter frost settled, Late Again captures a specific brand of creative tension. It explores the duality of human ambition: the desire to manifest a bold new vision for one’s life while wrestling with the shadows of who we used to be.
“It’s about that friction”, says the band. “The song discusses wanting to move forward with your life while simultaneously learning how to let go of your old self. It’s a process of shedding skin.”
The release of Late Again follows the massive momentum generated by the band’s latest 2025 EP, Masquerading Self- That record marked a pivotal moment for the Bristol quartet, representing their first major independent release and a “nu-metal reawakening” that earned them acclaimed praise from BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show with Dan Carter, Future Artists with Sian Eleri, plus Kerrang! Radio, Kerrang! magazine, Metal Hammer, and BBC Introducing Rock with Alyx Holcombe,
Late Again represents more than just a new melody for Profiler, it is a manifesto. The track signifies an open-minded approach to the year ahead, embracing the unknown and the limitless possibilities that 2026 holds for the band’s evolving sound.
