Chicago songwriter Jeb Backe, known as No Lonesome, unveils “Great Eternal”, the final single before their upcoming EP Am I What I’m Not? out October 15. The track features a choir of 17 friends who recorded vocals on their phones, creating a communal crescendo. Known for their DIY home-recording ethos, Backe blends folky indie pop with warm, analog textures. Artwork comes from Ana Inciardi (HBO, The Whitney), while Greg Obis (Stuck) handled mastering. Following 2023’s Flowers Recomposing, the new EP pushes No Lonesome’s sound into punchier territory, combining intimate songwriting with expansive arrangements and showcasing the spirit of Chicago’s indie scene.
