Louisville songwriter Mark Kramer, known for his stark solo project Tender Mercy, will release his debut 7” on October 17. Following years in Midwest punk bands, Kramer strips his music to its purest form, voice and guitar, capturing the intimacy and solemnity of his live performances. The single’s A-side, “Reincarnation,” reflects on homes being reinvented, while B-side “Fold” meditates on collapse. Minimal overdubs and raw space highlight Kramer’s songwriting in the tradition of Low, Sun Kil Moon, and Grouper. This release builds on Tender Mercy’s acclaimed full-lengths, offering listeners two meditations on the fragile, ever-changing meaning of home.
